During oil exploration and production processes, large quantities of waste like drilling mud, drilling cuttings, sump oil falling on ground, oily contaminated soil, oily sludge, tank bottom sludge and flow-back fluid will be generated. At onshore well site, if the waste is stored in cuttings pit, as the cuttings pit will leak, overflow or be buried, it will cause hazardous effect on underground and surface water system, pollute the surrounding ecological environment or even cause pollution accident. In case of offshore, it may damage marine organism, human health and marine activities such as fishing and other normal activities, damage sea water quality and impair environmental landscape.
